I was referred to Matt from a local Physical Therapist, whom I’ve worked with for many years, for foot pain. I had sprained my ankle months prior and had reoccurring foot and ankle issues. Matt looked at my entire structure to understand what caused my pain and was able to resolve my alignment issue in one session. Since that initial visit, Matt has helped me numerous times. One memorable appointment was when he used his bodywork techniques to realign my knee that I tweaked during a running race out in the sands of Moab, and then used his taping techniques which allowed me to keep on track with my training schedule for an upcoming ultra-running event. I now see Matt on a regular basis as part of my preventative and pro-active strategy of staying active. I’ve experienced his usage of Blood Flow Restriction techniques for rehab, his Vibe Plate, Ki-Hara stretching for hip flexor tightness, and Normatech Boots for recovery from big efforts. In combination with my PT, Matt’s expertise allows me to continue all the activities I enjoy as a Master’s athlete and active person.

As a competitive soccer player during my middle and high school years, a knee injury forced me to retire from the sport I loved. After restorative knee surgery, my activity level still creates pain that I deal with in my knee and leg. Matt is able to give me some relief from this nagging injury and allows me to enjoy the sports I can do, including biking, trail running, and skiing. I’ve utilized Matt’s Normatech Boots to help with my recovery after some epic days, and knee taping before some activities to help prevent further inflammation. He also gives me home exercises to continue my healing.

I’m a pretty active person, which means that it’s easy for me to find a lot of different ways to hurt myself. I first scheduled an appointment with Matt after suffering a bone spur on my heel from touring in a ski boot that was too big for me. It got to the point that it hurt to walk in flip-flops, let alone my ski boot or running shoe. During our session, Matt realigned my entire body, starting with my feet and ankles, and working up to my neck. It only took one session for him to get my heel back into shape.

I have returned to Matt countless times after he worked on my heel—for everything from a sprained wrist, a tweaked shoulder, fatigued hips, and an irritated calf. Although not every injury has been solved in one session like my heel (some have proven to be frustratingly stubborn, no matter what I do), Matt has always been able to unlock some secret methods to remedy my pain and get me moving again. I often refer to it as Matt Magic, because he always seems to surprise me with some new technique that works wonders.

The best part about working with Matt is how personal the treatment is. I’ve noticed that most traditional doctors or physical therapists work on you for a session, using the same techniques as they would use for anyone else, and then disregard you as a client until your next session. Matt customizes his techniques and methods from person to person, and from session to session, depending on your situation. What’s even better is that he follows up in between sessions to see how you are doing and if you need any advice for any at-home therapy techniques. He takes the time to understand who you are and what you need, and executes his therapy accordingly.

I couldn’t keep training consistently without Matt in my corner. As a masters athlete, “there’s always something”. He's helped me with acute injuries and has also intervened to prevent me from damage. Matt has a unique blend of skills plus a ton of experience across different sports, ages and body types. He’s not only world-class hands-on with diagnostics and treatment, but he’s continually upgrading his practice (and me!) with advanced techniques and technologies for repair and recovery. I also value his willingness to involve me in his fantastic network of therapists and trainers if he feels I need some extra input - sometimes "it takes a village"!
